Thirteen-year-old Gabrielle first became interested in mythology a couple of years ago when she read a few installments of Rick Riordan's "Percy Jackson" series. She told HuffPost Live's Josh Zepps that after that, she "basically needed to go deeper."
Martin Winkler, a classics professor at George Mason University, also joined the conversation to answer some of Gabrielle's questions, and started to describe the oddest myth he has ever heard.
"The oddest myth? Well, there are very, very, very many because, as you know, Gabrielle, Greek mythology is full of weird monsters and creatures and all kinds of things," Winkler said. "So I would be hard to put my finger on a particular one, but the one that I remember most vividly from when I was about your age and started reading Greek mythology ... is the story from the 'Odyssey.'"
Before Winkler could even finish, Gabrielle jumped in, saying, "The funniest part of that one was the men climb on the bellies of the cyclops' sheep."
