To many former and current professional professional athletes, LeBron James' cramps were no laughing matter. While some San Antonio Spurs fans and assorted LeBron haters may have been having a field day ripping James for leaving Game 1 of the NBA Finals in the fourth quarter because of cramps, several athletes were quick to defend the four-time NBA MVP.

"There is no athlete on the planet who could've played through those cramps," Basketball Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas told Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports after San Antonio's 110-95 win on Thursday night. "Michael Jordan absolutely couldn't have played through those cramps. I absolutely couldn't have played through those cramps. As an athlete, there's nothing you could do."

Several other notable sports stars took to Twitter to support James.
