Chris Hayes hit back against Bill O'Reilly's recent remarks against Robert Bergdahl on Thursday.
Earlier this week, O'Reilly criticized Robert Bergdahl, the father of freed POW Bowe Bergdahl, for his appearance at the White House over the weekend. Robert Bergdahl spoke words of Pashto, the language of his son's captors, and was sporting a beard, which he has said he grew over the past five years to mark his son's absence. That led O'Reilly to repeatedly insist that Robert Bergdahl "looks like a Muslim."
Hayes responded to O'Reilly on Thursday, saying, "Blatant Islamophobia here is eclipsed only by the sheer ridiculousness of the argument."
By O'Reilly's logic, Hayes said, we should be just as worried about other bearded men including the stars of "Duck Dynasty," ZZ Top, Forrest Gump and the Boston Red Sox.
Abraham Lincoln and Jesus also have "inappropriate, Muslim-looking beards," Hayes said sarcastically.
He joked that “someone needs to look into the guy who wrote two sympathetic books about them,” referring to O'Reilly. “I’ll be waiting for the 'Factor' investigation.”
