30-Foot Sculpture Upsets Westhampton Residents

No matter how hard they try, it seems Westhampton's elite can't look away from a 30-foot aluminum sculpture called "Walking Figure."

Rechler Equity Partners, the real estate development firm that commissioned the Donald Baechler-crafted piece, says the statue “lets people know right away that the Hampton Business District is in a class all its own," but locals aren't buying it.

"If that's art, I'm Michelangelo!!" one naysayer wrote on the Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce's Facebook page.

Other reactions ranged from "NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol" to "I thought that a scrap dealers truck threw up!WTF!"
