Alleged Christian Mingle Rape Victim Testifies, 'I Couldn't Believe That Was Happening'

NBC San Diego

A woman who says she visited a Christian dating website to find someone who shared her interest in God is now at the center of a Southern California rape trial.

The alleged victim, identified only as "K.K.," described to the court on Wednesday how the man she met on allegedly attacked her at her apartment.

"I lost it. I couldn’t believe that was happening," the alleged victim said, according to NBC San Diego. "I, at the top of my lungs, screamed, 'please.'"

K.K. said her first in-person meeting with her alleged attacker, 38-year-old Sean Patrick Banks, happened when he visited her La Mesa apartment on Nov. 21, 2012.

“I believed in God, scripture, going to church, reading the Bible, and I wanted someone who had those same interests and to share those things together,” K.K. said.

It was on that day, however, that K.K. claims Banks overpowered her and abused her.

Banks faces 44 years to life in prison if convicted of forcible rape, rape of an unconscious person, sex with a foreign object and burglary, ABC-10 reports.

Two other women have made similar claims against Banks.
