Japanese Fans Clean World Cup Arena After Team Loses, Show Us What Sportsmanship Means

With a world ranking of 46th, Japan is not expected to clean up in the World Cup. But the team's fans? That's another story.

After Japan lost 2-1 against Ivory Coast on Saturday, the team's followers stayed behind to pick up trash at the Arena Pernambuco in Recife, Brazil, several outlets reported. They combed their section with bags to gather up the mess, delighting social media users.

While tidying up public arenas is reportedly customary for the Japanese, some soccer fans elsewhere have earned a different reputation.

Japanese fans deserve their own round of applause. They make the so-called "beautiful game" even more beautiful.
