If you’re one of those people who always say “I got no sleep last night,” the amount of sleep the average American gets a night is likely higher than you expected.
According to the latest American Time Use Survey from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Americans get about 8 hours and 45 minutes of sleep a night, on average. The data is based on interviews with 11,400 people conducted in 2013.
