Happy birthday, Rubik's Cube!

Forty years ago, Hungarian architecture professor Erno Rubik unveiled the plastic puzzle that would become the best-selling toy of all time, with more than 350 million sold around the world, according to PBS.

Roughly one in seven people have tangled with the cube. And, of course, far fewer have solved the six-sided enigma, which can be twisted into 43 quintillion different positions.

To celebrate, a $5 million exhibit, opening at New Jersey's Liberty Science Center, is set to tour the world. You'll see Prof. Rubik's first prototypes, a $2.5 million, 18-karat gold cube, and a 26-foot-tall, fully functional one, that you're encouraged to play.

North American champ Anthony Brooks came on HuffPost Live to test his skills. Sure, he can solve the puzzle in less than seven seconds in competition. And he can do it one-handed in a Volkswagen commercial. But can he solve the puzzle blindfolded?
