Teacher Kathryn Ronk Suspected Of Sex With Student

Spanish Teacher Accused Of 'Criminal Sexual Conduct" With Student

A former Spanish teacher at a private school in a Detroit suburb has been arrested for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old student.

Kathryn Ronk, 29, has been charged with five counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct for the alleged illicit relationship with the unidentified male student from Bishop Foley high school, where she worked.

Each charge is punishable by as much as life in prison.

School officials terminated Ronk shortly after the alleged victim's parents filed a police complaint against her in May, according to the New York Daily News.

She had been employed by the school since last August. She is married with no kids, investigators said.

Ronk turned herself in to police in Madison Heights, Michigan, on Wednesday, and paid 10 percent of her $500,000 bail. She will be required to wear a GPS tether, according to the Detroit Free-Press.

Investigators said Ronk could face additional charges in Macomb County as the case involved more than one city, DailyTribune.com reports.

She is due back in court July 9.
