Chilean striker Mauricio Pinilla was very, very close to scoring a last-minute, go-ahead goal in stoppage time during a Round of 16 World Cup match against Brazil. But with the score tied 1-1 in the 120th minute, his shot bounced off the crossbar and back out of the penalty area. Now, days after Brazil eliminated Chile in a penalty shootout, Pinilla has made sure that he will always remember his missed opportunity (as if he were somehow going to forget it).
Pinilla got himself a tattoo of the ball hitting the crossbar with the words "One centimeter from glory" shown underneath the image.
