One little kitten got more than he bargained for when he crawled into a tight space under a stranger's car.
Vitaliy Bouranin, 32, heard some strange noises coming from his car when he stopped for gas during a long drive along a highway on the Russian island of Sakhalin, Yahoo Autos reported.
Bouranin decided to investigate, and to his surprise, he found a kitten stuck in the suspension spring of his vehicle.
"I have no idea how long it was there or more importantly, how it got there," Bouranin told the outlet. "I would have said it was impossible for a cat to get in the middle of a spring like that but somehow it had managed it."
Luckily, some helpful bystanders and mechanics were able to safely remove the little guy, who, despite a 50-mile journey at speeds of up to 80 mph, was relatively calm, according to a HuffPost translation of the video.
Vladimir Kazakov, who lives in the area and who came over to help free the kitten, named him "Peach." Kazakov and his wife adopted Peach after the ordeal, which took place in May, was over, reported Russian news outlet Komsomolkaya Pravda.
Hopefully Peach has learned his lesson, and the hitchhiking kitten won't go for any more unauthorized joy rides in the future!
