Nathan Fielder Dishes On The Real Story Behind 'Dumb Starbucks'

The Real Story Behind 'Dumb Starbucks'

Last February, social media was ablaze with questions about "Dumb Starbucks," a new coffee shop which appeared to be a complete rip-off of Starbucks, except with the word "dumb" in front of every offering.

After it was discovered to be an elaborate prank by Nathan Fielder, star of Comedy Central's "Nathan For You," real fans knew it was bound to be featured on an upcoming episode.

Fielder joined HuffPost Live on Tuesday and shed a little more light on the Dumb Starbucks gag. We'll find out the full truth behind Dumb Starbucks on the upcoming season of his show, Fielder said.

"What probably a lot of people don't know that it was done for an episode of 'Nathan For You.' That episode actually airs July 29," Fielder said. "It's something that there's a full story behind that wasn't part of anything you saw in the media coverage."

Funnily enough, the Dumb Starbucks operation was not shut down for any copyright issues; the Health Department closed the shop because it did not have a license to sell coffee.
