Ward Hall can get people to do anything.
The circus legend has hung out with men who lift bowling balls with their nipples, women who impale themselves, fire-walkers and glass-eaters in his 84 years on planet weird. On Thursday night, people flew in from all over the country to party with Ward and watch his proteges impale themselves on stage.
We're known for our parties at HuffPost Weird News, but Ward gave us something to celebrate. The freaks and geeks who showed up at the Morbid Anatomy Museum and the Rock Shop in Brooklyn are all exposed in the slideshow below. But first, here are some of our favorite moments:
Ward never told his life story in such detail, until he collaborated with Tim O'Brien on this book, "Ward Hall -- King Of The Sideshow." They spoke at Brooklyn's Morbid Anatomy Museum, and then partied at the nearby Rock Shop, where Todd Robbins hosted a one-of-a-kind show, featuring chainsaw juggler Donny Vomit, sword-swallowing Playboy model Marlena Dee, razor blade-eating strongman Adam RealMan, and Harley "The Professional Lunatic" Newman, while listening to hot jazz, gypsy swing played by The Bailsmen.
HuffPost Weird News hosted the event, in coordination with the Morbid Anatomy Museum, COED.com, Hendrick's Gin, Bulleit Bourbon, Narragansett Beer, HobNob Wines and Solber Pupusas. Thanks to everyone who came out!
