The 'Most Dangerous' States In America

You may have heard about a recent uptick in violent crime, though the levels of crime are still far below the worst historical years.

Now, we know the most dangerous states.

Law Street took a look at the FBI's violent crime statistics for American cities with more than 25,000 people to come up with a ranking of the most violent states.

The rankings considered murder, rape aggravated assault and robbery numbers in each locale from 2012, the most recent year where data is available.
