A Look At The 2014 Gay Games In Ohio (PHOTOS)

One of the biggest sporting/cultural festivals in the world is taking place in Ohio right now, and it's bringing together some of the most noted names in the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) athletic world.

The Gay Games are held every four years and allow participation from all athletes, regardless of "sexual orientation, race, gender identity, sex, religion, nationality, ethnic origin, political beliefs, athletic or artistic ability, age, physical challenge or health status." According to the Gay Games website, an estimated 90 percent of participants identify as LGBT.

This year is Gay Games 9 and the international competition is taking place on American soil, in Cleveland and Akron, Ohio. We couldn't be prouder of these queer athletes who are competing openly and visibly at this year's Gay Games.
