KISS frontman Gene Simmons is no stranger to outlandish statements. He is a showman, something he made apparent Monday on HuffPost Live, when Simmons stopped by to talk about the band's upcoming tour and new reality show, "4th and Loud."
Minutes after voicing how immigrants should "learn to speak goddamn English," Simmons talked about his contentious interview with soft-spoken NPR host Terry Gross in 2002.
"I don't think she was sweet. I think she was practicing holier-than-thou. I found her arrogant and insulting," Simmons told host Ricky Camilleri. "I told her she should get out, see the real world and not count the dust particles settling on her apartment where she was doing [the interview]."
Simmons took particular umbrage with Gross mistakenly calling his band "the KISS."
"What's NPR? A venereal disease?" Simmons said. "I hope I don't catch NPR."
