CNN's Brian Stelter Slams Fox News Psychiatrist Who Called Michelle Obama Fat

WATCH: CNN Host Slams Fox Doctor Who Called First Lady Fat

CNN's "Reliable Sources" host Brian Stelter called out Fox News psychiatrist Dr. Keith Ablow Sunday, condemning the doctor for remarks he made earlier this week regarding Michelle Obama's weight.

"I watch Fox News every day," Stelter said, opening the segment, "and I learn a lot about conservative politics ... but may I strongly suggest that you not take its medical advice."

"Speaking as a guy who was overweight growing up and who lost 90 pounds a few years ago, I think we need all the help we can get to reduce obesity in this country," Stelter continued. "So I really wish talking heads would not 'controversialize' something as simple as nutrition advice."

Stelter's slam comes in response to comments Ablow made last Tuesday during an appearance on Fox's "Outnumbered," in a panel discussing the First Lady's push for better youth eating and exercise habits.

"And how well could she be eating?" Ablow said, as a video of Michelle Obama looped in the background. "She needs to drop a few. Let’s be honest. We’re taking nutrition advice from who? I want nutrition. But let’s be honest, there’s no french fries happening? It’s all kale and carrots? I don’t buy it. Just saying."
