'Sideshow' Stunt Stops Traffic On Golden Gate Bridge

A reckless driver pulled off a dangerous stunt on one of the nation's most iconic bridges on Sunday, doing donuts amid heavy traffic on San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge.

A clip of the incident was posted on Instagram:

"My Sunday Was Better Than Yours!!!!" a user named the_ssnoopy_show posted.

The stunt was part of what's known as a "sideshow," which is when motorists gather on public roads, stop traffic, pull off illegal stunts such as this and leave -- usually before police arrive.

KRON 4 reporter Stanley Roberts, who has been covering sideshows as part of his "People Behaving Badly" segment, said 911 operators received calls about the stunt as well as shots fired.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating, Roberts said.

MissionMission reports that the car appears to be an early 2000s Camaro.

Anyone with information should call 1-800-TELL-CHP.
