New Yorker Says Goodbye To Derek Jeter

The New Yorker gave a very special farewell to Derek Jeter with its Monday cover.

What makes the cover even more special, though, is that its cover story was written by Roger Angell, the legendary sports writer who is considered among the greatest baseball journalists in history.

The senior editor, who has been covering baseball for more than 50 years, was awarded the J.G. Taylor Spink Award in 2013 -- the highest honor for baseball writers.

The cover commemorates Jeter as he enters his final season this September. Take a look at it below:
