Today, Sept. 7, is Grandparents Day. The holiday, signed into law by President Carter in 1978, honors the many contributions grandparents make to our lives. Of course, here at Huff/Post50, we hope families celebrate these important people every day of the year. But we also think it's nice to set aside one special day to really examine how grandparents impact one's upbringing.
Towards that end, we published a piece full of remembrances of grandparents on Thursday. On Friday, we rolled out a piece written by grandparents, focusing on what they loved about their relationships with their grandkids. We also published a piece by our editor-at-large Rita Wilson, who learned how to be a grandparent by watching her own parents with her kids.
Finally, we put together this amazing slideshow of photos and tributes that will bring tears to your eyes. Want to say something about your own grandparents? Please do so in comments. We'd love to hear from you. Happy Grandparents Day everyone!
