He's at it again.
The pastor of the ATLAH Missionary Church in Harlem, N.Y., notorious for his anti-gay proclamations by way of his church signs, has made another outlandish claim about the queer community. In a recent video featured on Right Wing Watch, James David Manning claims that before we know it gay NFL star Michael Sam, or any other gay person, will be traveling to "an Arabic nation" to marry a nine-year old.
Manning claims:
"[Gay marriages] are, if you will, legalized perverted orgies, if you must. They're not marriages. Mark my words, like Michael Sam and others, someone is going to take a nine-year-old boy to an Arabic nation or a nation without power to retort -- marry that nine-year-old and come back into Ellis Island and through customs and New York State will have to recognize that marriage."
The ATLAH Missionary Church first made headlines in late February when religious leaders posted a sign that read "Obama has released the homo demons on the black man. Look out black woman. A white homo may take your man." The church then later replaced the sign with one that read "Jesus would stone homos," along with "Stoning is still the law."
After an activist, Jennifer Louise Lopez, knocked on the church's door and informed religious leaders that she was there "for her stoning," ATLAH became the subject of several LGBT protests.
