Republican businessman Art Moore has lost his challenge against Rep. Tom McClintock (R-Calif.) in the race to represent California's 4th District.

Moore ran as a moderate alternative to McClintock, one of the state's most conservative representatives. As a result of California's top-two primary system, both Republicans advanced to the general election. He picked up endorsements from former California Gov. Pete Wilson and several local newspapers.
