FKA Twigs Targeted By Racist Trolls For Dating Robert Pattinson

FKA twigs, Robert Pattinson's rumored girlfriend, commented Sunday about the vicious and racist tweets she's received since news of the romance broke earlier this month.

"I am genuinely shocked and disgusted at the amount of racism that has been infecting my account the past week," the singer, whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett, tweeted on Sept. 28. "Racism is unacceptable in the real world and it's unacceptable online."

Much of the hate aimed at the 26-year-old singer appeared to be coming from extreme fans of Pattinson's ex and former "Twilight" co-star, Kristen Stewart, who are not only posting racist comments, but can't seem to get over the fact that the Robsten years are long gone.

This isn't the first time the singer has dealt with racist remarks. In a June 2014 interview with Dazed, FKA twigs opened up about being the only mixed-race girl in her Catholic school.

“Obviously it was hard. People said horrible things about something I had no control of, which was tough. But that’s okay. Life isn’t supposed to be easy, is it? I never really saw anything wrong with how I looked, it was more that certain people pointed things out to you about yourself," she told the magazine. "Either your hair’s different, or the color of your skin, or your features. Half of my life I’ve had people staring at me because they think I’m funny-looking and ugly. The other half of my life
I’ve had people staring at me because they think I’m fascinating. Everything neutralizes. It’s more of a statement on society and how weird it is.”
