Boxing champ Floyd Mayweather Jr. often makes news gambling -- real or imagined.
He was rumored to have wagered $10.4 million on the Denver Broncos in the last Super Bowl -- a losing proposition -- and was also said to have successfully bet around $6 million on an NBA playoff game in 2013.
But sometimes he provides proof. An apparent receipt posted to his Instagram (see below) Monday shows he bet $720,000 Sept. 21 on the Colts over the Jaguars for a $1.4 million payout. The Colts routed the Jacksonville Jaguars that day, 44-17, which easily covered the point spread and made a winner of Mayweather.
Before I went on a 2-week vacation, I bet $720,000.00 and I walked away with $1,405,714.28. When you’re betting on Andrew, it’s never Luck. CG Technology takes all bets. www.themoneyteam.com
It wasn't the first time Mayweather documented his gambling exploits. He tweeted evidence of more modest wins after betting correctly on the 2014 Sugar Bowl and Rose Bowl.
