Debbie Goard, the woman behind the confectionary treats that will blow your mind, is an artist, author and cake designer from San Francisco. Lately, she's been turning heads across the country with her sculpted cake and sugar art designs from Debbie Does Cakes. Goard's subjects vary from Tory Burch flats to tree frogs, and absolutely everything in between.
Oftentimes, her cakes are so incredibly realistic, it's too hard to tell if it's her own creation or the "real" deal that inspired the creation. So just to test your sugar-spotting skills, try to figure out which one is Debbie's work of art:
1. Hot Wings
REAL: Picture on the left is actually a hot wing cake made of chocolate, fondant and buttercream. WTF.
2. Barbecue ribs
REAL: Picture on the left is a BBQ sculpted plate of chocolate, fondant and buttercream.
3. Surf N' Turf
REAL: Picture on the right is cake, fondant and buttercream. Unreal.
4. BLT sandwich
REAL: Picture on the right is a sandwich made out of cake and fondant.
5. Creamed spinach
REAL: Picture on the left is the "fake" creamed spinach made of chocolate and fondant.
REAL: This one is tricky, the one on the left is Debbie's creation of chocolate, fondant and edible rice paper.
REAL: This sh*t is bananas, but the one on the left is a banana made of chocolate and fondant.
