A 'Mass Murder In The Mediterranean' Killed Nearly 450 People, Including This Man's Family

In early September, according to eyewitnesses, Egyptian smugglers deliberately sunk a boat carrying about 450 migrants, most of them Palestinians fleeing Gaza after this summer’s war. The UN's human rights chief called it "mass murder in the Mediterranean."

It was the worst shipwreck to take place in recent years: Only 11 of the 450 passengers are known to have survived. Shukri Alassouli is one of them.
