Arkansas Governor Election Results: Asa Hutchinson Defeats Mike Ross

Asa Hutchinson Wins Arkansas Gubernatorial Race

Former Rep. Mike Ross (D-Ark.) lost to former Rep. Asa Hutchinson (R-Ark.) in the state's gubernatorial contest Tuesday.

Ross and Hutchinson were both hoping to replace retiring Gov. Mike Beebe (D).

Ross, who had worked as an aide for former President Bill Clinton, received some campaign help from Clinton, who remains popular in the state. Hutchinson had unsuccessfully challenged Beebe for the governorship in 2006.
