Watching a mixture of cornstarch and water might sound like a snooze, but the stuff exhibits some pretty fascinating behavior when placed atop a vibrating loudspeaker.
Just watch this new video from YouTube’s Slow Mo Guys (above) to see for yourself how this "non-Newtonian fluid" dances to the beat.

Pretty trippy, huh?
What exactly is a non-Newtonian fluid? It's any fluid that exhibits flow behavior different from that of familiar Newtonian fluids like air and water. Familar examples of non-Newtonian fluids include ketchup, blood, and Silly Putty--as well as the cornstarch-water mixture (commonly known as Oobleck).
