Fake food. I have a thing for realistic-looking faux fruit, tiny crocheted cupcakes, little carved pieces of sushi.... I even have a sleeping bag shaped like a slice of pizza. I have no idea where the obsession came from, but I hope it never ends.
Best Indulgence
Fancy underwear, which I buy all over the world. I'm not shy about throwing away my gently used pairs and replacing them with new ones.
Best Hobby
Sketching and drawing with my 6-year-old son. We tape the pictures to the wall and pretend our house is a mini art gallery. This will turn him into either a cultured museum enthusiast or a narcissist who believes all his artwork is good enough to hang.
Best Escape
My closet. A lot of people forget that you can go hide in there next to your favorite sweater, close your eyes, and reset. All you need is ten minutes.
Best Mistake
Thinking everything is going to run smoothly all the time. It won't -- things will always go wrong -- but it never hurts to be optimistic.
