An Aging Parent's Frustrations Heard, But Not Absorbed

My father is having a bad day.

He had a fight with his home health aide when she woke him up to stick pills in his mouth. He takes great offense to being treated like a piece of meat, which is understandable, but without the medication he is more of a vegetable and he doesn’t like that much either. So I let him ramble and vent, as I’ve done for years, decades really, transferring his frustration with his chronic depression, pain and life onto me.
