Note to Kobe haters: Your criticism will not go unchallenged.

In the final days of 2014, Kobe Bryant shut down a heckler in Dallas by counting off his NBA championships and a social media spat sparked by a disagreement over his current impact on the Los Angeles Lakers nearly led to a real world fight in Temecula, Calif.

With only one of the two Twitter users involved in the argument actually showing up at the agreed upon destination, #MeetMeInTemecula briefly became an online sensation without resulting in any physical violence.

Bryant didn't hear about the dispute and commute until ESPN's Arash Markazi showed him the vitriolic tweets. The 36-year-old five-time NBA champion seemed amused.
