Neil deGrasse Tyson takes a dim view of New Year's resolutions.

"I generally don't have resolutions," he told The Huffington Post in an email. "For me, they are a state of mind, not a state of annual declaration."

But the celebrated astrophysicist owned up to have a couple of "ongoing" resolutions:

•"Learn something about the world and the universe today that I did not know yesterday."

•"Lessen the suffering of others, especially when it involves only a trivial investment of my time or energy."

Nice, Neil!
