At 93, Betty White is undoubtedly one tough cookie -- with decades of success under her belt in an industry where fame comes and goes by the minute. But we saw an unexpectedly emotional side of the actress last night at the People's Choice Awards where she was honored with the Favorite TV Icon Award.
White was clearly overwhelmed by the accolade and visibly moved when she received a standing ovation from the audience. "Can you imagine? The People's Choice at 93? I mean, that's ridiculous!" she joked.
Social media was instantly ablaze with Twitter users calling her everything from "a national treasure" to "an inspiration."

Viewers were also left swooning after "Captain America" star, 33-year-old Chris Evans, quickly offered White his arm, escorting her all the way up to the stage. We're pretty sure the pleasure was all his.
Other Post50s who were winners included host Ellen DeGeneres, 56, who won Favorite Daytime TV Host, as well as Viola Davis and Robert Downey Jr., who both turn 50 later this year.
