Demi Lovato is starting her week fresh-faced -- and she wants you to do the same.
The singer posted a makeup-free selfie and declared herself ready to start a social media movement, #NoMakeupMonday.
"Forgot to post this a while back... Let's start a new Twitter/Instagram trend: #NoMakeupMonday... Why? Cause we deserve to show the world our beauty and our confidence!!!," the 22-year-old wrote:
It's no surprise that the body-image champion is encouraging her followers to go without makeup. Lovato, who has her own skincare line called Devonne by Demi, appeared in minimal makeup for her spread in Allure magazine's January 2015 issue.
"We wanted today to be super natural; show my skin, show my freckles," the singer said in a behind-the-scenes video from the shoot.
Lovato also frequently shares makeup-free selfies on her social media accounts, and she has continuously spoken out about being confident with her own body after seeking treatment for an eating disorder in 2010.
To ring in 2015, she shared an Instagram photo with a message of self-acceptance in the photo caption:
I was beautiful then, and I'm beautiful now. 2014 I decided to focus on bettering myself by making changes in my life with health, balance, endurance and consistency. You don't have to wait till the beginning of a new year to make resolutions for yourself. It's all about loving and taking care of the only body you will ever have... Cherish it, love it, embrace it.. Because when you do.. It begins to show. 😊 Goodbye 2014.. Who's excited for what we can accomplish in 2015?!! Let's do this!!!! 💪💪💪🎉🎊🎉
