Lack Of Sex Could Lead To Overeating, According To Author Jena La Flamme

Pleasurable Weight Loss author Jena La Flamme finds sexual activity and weight loss to be "absolutely connected" -- and not just because sex burns calories.

In a conversation with HuffPost Live on Monday, the New York City-based weight loss expert explained how a stale sex life could leave those seeking pleasure in unhealthy eats.

"If you're sexually deprived, your body is going to feel the lack and is going to look in other areas, and it's so easy to repress that and to fill the void with food," she told host Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani. "That's a really important part of losing weight pleasurably: embracing your sensuality as well as your sexuality."

Additionally, refraining from sex could create an additional burden for once the weight's off, according to La Flamme.

"Finding peace in being a sexual being is essential, otherwise you'll get more sexual attention that you're not comfortable with and you'll be running back to the cookies anyways," she said.
