Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon & Leslie Jones Are Your New Ghostbusters

Here's The All-Female 'Ghostbusters' Cast

The all-female cast of the "Ghostbusters" reboot has reportedly been chosen: Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, and "SNL" stars Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon are negotiating to star in the film, which Paul Feig will direct.

Representatives for the actresses did not return HuffPost Entertainment's immediate request for comment. Feig, however, tweeted the following photo just before The Hollywood Reporter broke the news on Tuesday:

He later gave an update on the film's release:

The original THR story stated that McCarthy, who was previously reported as being attached to the film, had officially signed up, but according to Feig's representative that's not the case. McCarthy and the three other actresses are still in negotiations. The film is scheduled to start shooting this summer.

Feig, whose credits include "Bridesmaids" and "The Heat," confirmed that he would take on the new "Ghostbusters" film for Sony back in October. (He and "The Heat" writer Katie Dippold are working on the screenplay.) In an interview with EW.com, Feig explained his direction for the movie: "I love the first one so much I don’t want to do anything to ruin the memory of that. So it just felt like, let’s just restart it because then we can have new dynamics."

While the rest of the cast has not been revealed, HitFix reporter Drew McWeeny speculated that original "Ghostbusters" star Bill Murray could join the film as one of the villains, a "professional supernatural debunker." Murray famously balked at doing a third "Ghostbusters" film for years, back when original director Ivan Reitman had previously been attached. (Reitman bowed out from directing duties after Harold Ramis died last year.)

This post has been updated to reflect that Melissa McCarthy has not officially signed up just yet.
