Middle School Students Had A 'Sex Party': Cops

Middle School Students Arrested For Having 'Sex Party': Cops

Students at a Wisconsin middle school engaged in what local media and authorities are describing as a "sex party."

WISN reports that four children as young as 13 engaged in sex acts at a student's home over the holiday break.

The four teens who attend Brown Deer Middle School in Brown Deer, Wisconsin, allegedly recorded the sex acts on their phones.

Authorities were alerted to the party when a student who attended it told a teacher.

“We are deeply troubled to learn that four Brown Deer students have been arrested for sexual assault in relation to a situation that happened off school property,” Superintendent Deb Kerr said in a statement, according to PIX 11. “This situation was originally brought to the attention of the school administration by other students who were concerned for the safety of the students allegedly involved.”

Fox 6 reports that police are recommending prosecutors charge the four teens with first and second-degree sexual assault of a child. The four would be charged for sex acts against each other, a spokesperson for the Brown Deer Police Department told The Huffington Post.

Jezebel's Anna Merlan suggests there must be a different punishment available to authorities:

It does seem like there is, perhaps, a less draconian way to punish these kids? Given that for most middle school students, taking away his or her phone is more painful than being dragged over thousands of miles of red hot coals?
