Fritz The Golden Retriever Can't Catch -- And You'll Love Him For It

Fritz the golden retriever has mouth-eye coordination issues.

Watch this adorable dog miss yummy treats tossed at him, from steak to strawberry. And it's all done in flub-magnifying slow-motion.

"While we all intently anticipate the day when Fritz masters the skill of catching food in his mouth, we also patiently embrace the journey," wrote Fritz's owner, Evan Ball.

Of course, people food is not for dogs, and can be dangerous to their health. But fortunately for Fritz, Ball assured The Huffington Post that the pup isn't fed everything he's thrown, nor is he living "off donuts and chimichangas."

"I actually intercept most of the food and give him just a little for his efforts. Plus, he only gets a food tossed to him about once a week," Ball said via email. "The rest of the time he eats healthy dog food and gets regular exercise. He’s actually quite a specimen."

Ball added that it's hard to say which foods are Fritz's favorites to try to catch: "He gets excited about everything, but I have noticed some mild drooling with meat items."
