Naomi Watts is the latest star to throw shade at the Kardashians.
In a new interview with Australia's InStyle magazine, the 46-year-old actress said, "There’s so much focus on celebrity these days; we’re in the Kardashian era and it’s slightly scary."
She added, "But when you hear that there are ways to use [your celebrity status] purposefully, it makes you feel good about what you do. When it’s related to matters that you’re passionate about, it’s easy to get involved when the invitation comes."
"You have to love what you do. I didn’t have a plan B and I developed a thick skin over the years," she continued.
But Watt's assessment of the Kardashians isn't necessarily up to date, given that the reality-TV family has actually begun to use their celebrity quite purposefully. As Bruce Jenner publicly came out as transgender, the Kardashian-Jenner family championed him. They've used their massive platform to bring awareness to the issue and to help other families who are dealing with similar things.
Of course, Watts isn't alone in her feelings about the family. In 2012, Jon Hamm referenced Kim Kardashian when he claimed that "stupidity is celebrated." Similarly, both Daniel Craig and Jonah Hill have had some harsh words for the star.
