A Sex Scene From Jackie Collins' 'The Santangelos' May Have Helped Her Assistant Get Pregnant

Jackie Collins' new novel The Santangelos is pretty steamy. It's so steamy, in fact, that one of the book's sex scenes may be the motivation her assistant needed to get busy and subsequently get pregnant, Collins told HuffPost Live's Nancy Redd on Thursday.

The author, who still writes all of her work longhand, recalled the day she sent a particularly sexy passage from The Santangelos to her assistant, who typed up the chapter on a computer, then called Collins and asked to leave early for the day.

"I said, 'Why do you want to go home early?' She said, 'I just wrote out ... the sex scene,'" Collins said. "So I said, 'Yes, go home early.' Then she had a baby nine months later."
