Shortly after tweeting the joke to her 74,000 followers, Mozes fired off three apology tweets in English, including one directed at Obama himself and one at her husband. She also apologized in Hebrew.

I apologize, that was a stupid joke somebody told me.

President Obama I shouldnt have written the inappropriate joke I heard. I like people no matter about their race and religion.

Sorry if I caused any offence to anyone. I hope I will stay married when my husband will land and hear what I did.

Mozes was criticized in 2012 for comments she made on Facebook regarding her country's military actions in Gaza, the Jerusalem Post reported. She resigned from a position with UNICEF after the backlash.
