Ramen is one of the few things that is beloved by food snobs and cheap college students alike. But what about if you combine it with another favorite - the classic American burger?
Keizo Shimamoto spent years in Japan learning about ramen while also tweaking an idea for a burger hybrid. He didn't imagine his tinkering would become such a craze that he could open a restaurant on the back of the concept.
So we sat down with the burger's inventor to find out how the inspiration came to him; how he turned the idea into reality; and what he thinks makes his particular ramen burger so much better than the imitators.
