Alyssa Pinsker is a writer and performer. She writes features and reviews for BBC Travel, Cosmopolitan, Time Out New York, New York, xoJane, BUST, Frisky, New York Post, New York Daily News, New York Press, Huffington Post, Forward, Paste Magazine, Sherman’s Travel, Chevrolet and more. Book anthologies include “The Hope,” edited by Menachem Creditor and “The Best Advice in Six Words: Writers Famous and Obscure on Love, Sex, Money, Friendship, Family, Work and Much More,” edited by Larry Smith. She’s a commentator for Huffington Post Live and the BBC World Service and a registered NBCC book reviewer. Her travel memoir in progress is titled GIRL GONE GLOBAL which has been described as “Not That Kind of Girl” meets “Eat, Pray, Love.” She has lived in India, France, Japan, Switzerland and of course, New York for at least a year at a time. Pinsker is also an oft-booked storyteller and has appeared on the Moth, Story Collider, How I Learned series, etc. As a stand up comic she has performed at Gotham, Broadway Comedy and other clubs around New York City. She has read at the Franklin Park Reading and Freerange Non-Fiction series amongst others. She was formerly represented by Bicoastal Modeling Agency for fit, commercial and print. She has a Masters in Education from LIU, Brooklyn and has completed coursework towards her MFA in Creative Non-Fiction at Sarah Lawrence College.
