Andrew Jarecki

Andrew Jarecki is an Academy Award-nominated filmmaker, best known for Capturing the Friedmans, which won 18 major international prizes including the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Festival, and the New York Film Critics Circle award. His first narrative feature, All Good Things, starring Ryan Gosling, Kirsten Dunst, and Frank Langella, was released in theaters in 2010 and went on to become the #1 independent film of the year on VOD. He produced the acclaimed documentary Catfish, also released in 2010 by Universal Pictures, followed by Catfish, The TV Show, the highest rated MTV premiere ever, and the highest-rated non-sports cable series of the year. He has made a number of acclaimed short films (including Just a Clown, and Swimming, which premiered at Sundance) and co-wrote and performed with JJ Abrams, the theme song for the television show Felicity. As a member of the band CrabCore, he co-produced the song Monster Mash which appeared on the soundtrack for Silver Lining’s Playbook. Jarecki also founded Moviefone and served as Chief Executive until he sold the company to America Online in 1999. He is a graduate of Princeton University, and resides in New York City with his family, where he is a principal, along with his producing partner Marc Smerling, in Hit the Ground Running Films.
