South Dakota Humanities Scholar, Keeper of the Canton Native Asylum Story, Clinical Counselor
Anne Dilenschneider is a South Dakota Humanities Council Scholar. She has doctorates in clinical psychology and in spirituality & leadership, and works as a clinical counselor in Sioux Falls, SD. She has helped develop restorative justice programs in California and South Dakota, and speaks nationally on this topic. She is also a Story Holder for the Keepers of the Canton Asylum Story - a group that is working to educate people about the asylum for "insane" Native Americans that was located in Canton, SD from 1902-1933. For sixteen years, Anne has also used her skills in psychology, spirituality, and leadership to help non-profits and faith communities build teams of leaders and create transformational organizations. In addition, Anne is a published, award-winning poet and writer. She lives in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
