Ateqah Khaki

Ateqah Khaki is a graduate student at The New School’s School of Media Studies where she focuses on digital and social media and social change. Prior to her graduate studies, she was a senior communications strategist at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) where she worked on issues related to speech, privacy & technology; national security; and human rights. She is the founder of the Tumblr blog My Best Friend Is Muslim and has been profiled on the White House blog as part of “Women Working to Do Good,” a collaboration between the White House and HelloGiggles. She lives in Brooklyn, New York.
