Ben Skervin

Ben Skervin’s ambition to become a professional hairstylist began when he was 16. He moved from his hometown in the east of England to live in London, where for three years he worked as an apprentice at the world famous Vidal Sassoon Salons. Ben’s talent as an upcoming hairstylist was soon recognized, and he worked his way to become Sassoon’s top stylist at the London flagship store in the fashionable Bond Street area. At 21, Ben began freelancing and was drawn to the music industry, working with The Spice Girls, Ricky Martin and many other of Europe’s top recording artists. After spending years in the music industry, Ben began working in the fashion industry on print editorial for various international publications, advertising campaigns and also fashion runway shows. He moved to New York, where he is now based, in 2004. Ben Skervin is the Vidal Sassoon Pro Series celebrity hairstylist.

Ben has collaborated with an impressive roster of fashion photographers such as Willy Vanderperre, Emma Summerton, Alexi Lubomirski, Patrick Demarchelier, Steven Klein, Karl Lagerfeld, Tom Munro, Sebastian Faena, Terry Richardson, Paolo Roversi and Ellen von Unwerth. On many of these editorials he worked with some of the industry’s top editors, such as Edward Enninful, Olivier Rizzo, and Panos Yiapanis. He has worked with i-D Magazine; American, Italian, Spanish, Japanese and China Vogue; Numero, W Magazine, Vanity Fair and V Magazine. He has also done advertising campaigns for Estee Lauder, Hermes, Givenchy Perfume, Gap, H&M, Joop, Kate Spade, Revlon, Uniqlo and Victoria’s Secret.

In addition to his career in the fashion and beauty industry, Ben often works with celebrities for personal appearances, editorials and advertising. He is most often requested by Maggie Gyllenhaal, Mariah Carey, Marc Jacobs, Keira Knightley, Madonna, Kate Bosworth, Sienna Miller, Ashley & Mary-Kate Olsen, Chloe Sevigny, Britney Spears, Marisa Tomei and Rachel Weisz.
