Betty is a writer, author, and blogger. She spent 25 years as a Creative Director in advertising before writing two books on motherhood: I’m Too Sexy for My Volvo: A New Mom’s Guide to Staying Fabulous and The Agony & The Agony: Raising Your Teen Without Losing Your Mind.

In 2010, she started her first blog project What Gives 365, giving away $100/day for 365 days to a person, cause or organization she felt was making the world a better place.

Her new blogging project, Heifer 12 x 12, is taking her to 12 countries in 12 months of 2012, visiting Heifer projects focused on ending poverty and hunger in some of the poorest countries in the world.

Betty lives in Atlanta with her husband, Lawrence Schall, president of Oglethorpe University, and they have four children.
