Carlota Zimmerman is a graduate of Wellesley College, Middlebury College Language School and Indiana University-Bloomington School of Law. At the age of 18, her first play, "Man At His Best", won the Young Playwrights Festival and was produced off-Broadway, under the direction of Mark Brokaw. It was positively reviewed in New York Magazine, The New York Times and The Village Voice. "Man at His Best" continues to be performed around the world. Before founding her coaching business in 2008, she worked in network news in Russia, Washington, D.C. and New York City. Carlota worked in the newsrooms of CNN, FOX News, ABC, MSNBC and NBC News. While in law school, she interned for then Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, and clerked for Judge Obus of the New York State Supreme Court. A native of New York City, she has lived and worked in Russia, India and China. She is fluent in Russian and all-too-frequently covered in cat hair. Her articles have been published by Thought Catalog, EliteDaily, MSNBC and AbovetheLaw. She won a 2014 Nokia Scholarship to attend Social Media Week 2014 in NYC, and in that same year, Carlota was cited as a "social media expert" in a US News & World Report article on effective methods for using LinkedIn. To date, she has led workshops at the New York Public Library, CUNY Institute of Mexican Studies, SUNY Stony Brook and Queens Council on the Arts. This past February, she moderated a panel at Social Media Week NYC 2015, helping female professionals and artists use social media to articulate and achieve their professional visions. At BlogHer2015, Carlota and her podcast co-host Marie Segares, were invited to lead a "lighting round" helping professionals use Google+ for purposes of career advancement. This November, Carlota will be leading a series of social media round-table discussions at the 2015 Pennsylvania Conference for Women.
Since January 2015, Carlota has co-hosted the "No Frills Small Business" podcast with her friend/partner-in-crime Marie Segares.
