With a sword swallower as a father and a fundamentalist chanteuse for a mother, is it any wonder Carolyn became a writer?

Carolyn is a travel journalist, photographer and author of fiction. Her short fiction has appeared in a variety of online literary journals. Her short story, "Sketches Past and Present," was featured in the anthology Best New Writing 2013. Her nonfiction and/or photography have appeared in print and online media such as Prevue, California Meetings + Events, Incentive, Greer’s OC, Examiner.com, Riverside Press-Enterprise, CCM, and her personal blog, Ovations.

In 2009 Carolyn founded the #LitChat hashtag used in Twitter for literary discussion and established the companion blog, LitChat. Carolyn studied communication and creative writing at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, Calif. and Japanese language studies through the University of Maryland extension at MCAS Iwakuni, Japan.
